# Keyboard Shortcuts

> Every keyboard shortcut in Studio — canvas tools, navigation, generation, and chat.

Studio is built for keyboard-first work. Every shortcut here uses **Cmd** on Mac and **Ctrl** on Windows / Linux.

## Tools

| Shortcut       | Action                                     |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| `V`            | Switch to the **select** tool              |
| `H`            | Switch to the **pan** tool                 |
| `Space` + drag | Pan the canvas without leaving select mode |
| `Cmd+U`        | Open the upload dialog                     |

## Selection and editing

| Shortcut               | Action                                          |

| Click                  | Select a node                                   |
| Shift + click          | Add or remove a node from the current selection |
| Drag-select            | Marquee-select multiple nodes                   |
| `Backspace` / `Delete` | Delete the selected node(s)                     |
| `Cmd+G`                | Group selected nodes                            |
| `Cmd+Z`                | Undo (50-step history)                          |
| `Cmd+Shift+Z`          | Redo                                            |

## Chat and mentions

| Shortcut      | Action                                                                           |

| `@`           | Open the mention picker (brand kits, assets, colors, instructions, canvas nodes) |
| `Enter`       | Send the current chat message                                                    |
| `Shift+Enter` | New line in the chat input                                                       |
| `Escape`      | Close the active modal or popup                                                  |

## Browser extension

The keyboard shortcut for capturing from the web lives outside Studio:

| `Cmd+Shift+M` (Mac)              | Open the Memo capture popup on the current page |
| `Ctrl+Shift+M` (Windows / Linux) | Same                                            |

The extension shortcut is reassignable from `chrome://extensions/shortcuts`.

## Tips

* **`H` is for "hand"** — same convention as Photoshop, Figma, and Illustrator. `V` is select.
* **Hold space** when you want to pan briefly without losing your select tool. Release to go straight back to selecting.
* **Undo runs 50 deep**. You can iterate aggressively without fear of losing earlier work.
